Charity ride to support lifesaving service in Northamptonshire UK

Last year's Brackley Festival of Motorcycling

The air ambulance charity which helps saves lives in Northamptonshire is appealing for motorcyclists to take part in a fund-raising ride.

The Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) will host their Rescue Ride Out event on August 18 to raise money to keep their lifesaving helicopter flying.

Riders based in the county will meet at Triumph Motorcycles in Wellingborough, who are one of the sponsors of the event, and will then follow a route to the Brackley Festival of Motorcycling.

Stuart Wilkins, fund-raising co-ordinator for the Northamptonshire area of WNAA, said: “This is a fantastic event for motorcycle enthusiasts. Not only do they get to ride in convoy to the renowned Brackley Motorcycle Festival, they’ll also be helping to raise money for our vital cause.”

The WNAA flew to about 1,000 rescue missions, including 102 motorbike incidents.

Entry is £10 and riders can sign up at www.theairambulanceservice.org.uk or by calling 08454 130 999.
