Is This The Last Twisted Hog Pig Roast?
Bikers have always had a big heart for kids and those affected by tragedy. John and Shelley Chambers are no different. From their small farm in Beaumont, Alberta Canada, they’ve played host to various family friendly events in order to raise funds to help those in need or to donate to charity. Throughout the summer months they host multiple events and for the past 5yrs The Twisted Hog Pig Roast has been a local favorite donating to a cause for children with down syndrome. But now it seems that this may be the last as John is in the last stages of a battle that he can’t win…but he can have the last laugh, and a hell of a sendoff party. This event is shaping up to be even larger than the past Twisted Hog Pig Roasts, and that’s just fine by everyone involved, the more the merrier with plenty of room for all.
Events Held To benefit those in need
When fires consumed the oil patch town of Fort Mac in northern Alberta, the Chambers did what they do best, they put on an event that raised a significant amount of donations and items to help those in need. The small diverse farm has given them the opportunity to give back and it all started with a close friend whose son has down syndrome. From there it kind of blossomed and John and Shelley knew this is what they were meant to do. No professionals here, they just dug their heels in and learned the ups and downs and ins and outs of events, and had a lot of great help along the way, people just naturally gravitated to the couple and instantly became family.
There’s camping, fireworks, food and more.

The Show Must Go On
A July 1st Facebook posting by Shelley Chambers said “This event is going through way beyond “rain or shine”. Dreams don’t stop just because of change. John S Chambers is a strong man of determination & pure will. This MAY be the last T.H. & he wants one HELL of a ruckus. We want to give him just that & he’s promising to be there one way or another. Following dreams & final wishes…”
